Benefits of Volunteering at Stella Maris
Stella Maris Volunteers are treated with respect and
gratitude for their significant contributions to our residents. In addition
to knowing that you are helping others in need, Stella Maris provides
training programs for all volunteers, free parking, dining room discounts,
immediate and annual recognition, required TB shots, free flu shots, MTA
access and more. Through the Volunteer orientation and training programs,
you will develop new skills and knowledge to enhance your own life and
the lives of Stella Maris residents.
Student Volunteer Program
Stella Maris warmly welcomes volunteers who need
to complete required community service hours for graduation or confirmation.
Students must be between the ages of 13-18 and possess a willingness
to serve the elderly. All students must complete an application, be
interviewed
and go through an orientation program. For more information on student
volunteer opportunities, call Andrea Gage at 410-252-4500 ext. 7203.
Stella Maris Auxiliary
The Stella Maris Auxiliary is a service organization dedicated to promoting and advancing the welfare of the services managed by Stella Maris. Any individual is invited to join our organization and support its efforts to make Stella Maris a special place for all who call it home.
Meetings are held quarterly and there are a number of active committees and events throughout the year. The Auxiliary operates a Gift Shop and a Good Buy Shop. An Annual Shrimp Feast, Craft Sales, Bake Sales, Raffles and seasonal events raise funds to support special projects at Stella Maris.
Annual dues are $15, Life Memberships are $100.
