A Tradition Of Quality Care
shadow

Stella Maris has long played an essential role as a place where families and seniors can turn for excellent care, beautiful surroundings and pleasant living. When Baltimore’s Archbishop Keough called on the Sisters of Mercy to administer Stella Maris in 1953, the vision was to build Stella Maris as the leader in senior care and housing through service based on compassion, trust and respect.

At Stella Maris, these values form the foundation for what we do and who we are. Our mission, rooted in the tradition of the Sisters of Mercy, is to provide professional, compassionate care you can trust.

For 50 years, Stella Maris has been a leader in providing care to the Baltimore area’s elderly. Our reputation continues today, in large part due to our staff. Highly trained and professional, the Stella Maris team includes nurses, certified nursing assistants, social workers, chaplains, therapists and other caregivers. A large pool of dedicated volunteers who offer their time and talents to Stella Maris enhances the care and comfort of our patients and residents.

An important part of the care offered at Stella Maris is a focus on the spiritual dimension. For many persons, the spiritual side of healing is just as important as the physical aspect. At Stella Maris, our pastoral team, ministering to all faiths, encourages and supports this aspect through visits, prayer services, Mass, and other activities.
