Rehabilitation Often, a physician will recommend additional therapy at a rehabilitation facility when a patient is discharged from the hospital. Stella Maris is accredited by the Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations to provide rehabilitation and recovery services, offering patients the treatment they need to return to their home and to independence. The rehabilitation unit has large, bright, private and semi-private rooms, cable TV, sitting rooms and recreation areas. In this unit, you will receive care under the direction of your physician, with nurse practitioners, licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants administering medications and treatments according to your provider’s orders. To achieve your goal of returning home, our therapists work with you daily to help you regain your strength and ability to handle the activities of daily living. In our model apartment, you practice lifting a pot of water, getting in and out of a bed or a chair, or any number of other activities that could potentially prove difficult.
